Welcome to the November 2019 edition of Busmopolitan.

It was announced on 8/11/19, that the CrossRail project has been delayed further, and will not now be completed until 2021. This has resulted in a stay of execution for the Class 315 EMUs, although they will continue to be replaced by new Class 345s during this time. Some 315s are now moving over to London Overground.

TfL192 (Enfield-Tottenham Hale) was also taken over – from Go-Ahead London General North. Arriva had also run the 192 before, losing it to Go-Ahead in 2014.

Dart SLF/Pointer 257 (EU57 FLM) appeared at Kelvedon (KN) on 1/11/19 and was returned to Clacton (CN) on 5/11/19. Dart SLF/MPD 286 (HW54 BTY) was unusually loaned by CN to KN from 6/11/19. Sible Hedingham (HD) ADL/Enviro 200 261 (EY57 FZE) was back at KN on 15/11/19 and stayed until 25/11/19. Withdrawn Dart SLF/MPD 290 (EX02 RYR) was towed from KN to CN on 6/11/19, for parts recovery. 289 (EJ02 KYY) was towed away from HD on 13/11/19 to CN for further parts recovery. Both then went to Alpha for scrap. The engine from 289 went into SLF/Pointer 257 (EU56 FLM). The engine from 290 went into SLF/Pointer 254 (EU 05 AUR).
Volvo B10M/Plaxton Premiere 8 (R453 FWT) passed to Alpha Recovery for scrap. It was collected from CN on 9/11/19. 8 was the last coach with Hedingham.

New TfL contract gains will see Northumberland Park as a mostly electric bus depot from early 2020.

Short ADL/Enviro 200 423 (EU64 CVT) was badly damaged in a collision at Black Notley on 19/11/19. The driver and a passenger were injured; fortunately neither seriously. 423 was initially recovered to Boreham depot, and then moved to Rochford for storage.
