As a result, the DAF SB120/Wright Cadets are withdrawn. 3528 (LF02 PNE) has been stood down again after covering for Dart SLF/Pointer 3421 (AY54 FPZ). The SB120s have all gone. Those traced are 3520 (LJ03 MZL), 3521 (LJ03 MYJ) to Harlow (via brief store at Southend); 3527/29/34 (LF02 PMY, PNJ/U) to store at Arriva Southend.
Trainer DAF SB120/Cadet 3524 (LJ51 DDX) remained here in February.
A new bus wash has been brought into use here.

From 18/2/19, there were revisions to the Brentwood area services, and a new timetable booklet was issued. New route X90 (Lakeside-Brentwood) replaced X21, X31 and X81.
Amazon route Z3 (Tilbury-Southend) is now operated. Amazon Z1 (to Lakeside), Z2 (to Barking), Z4 (to Laindon) are already on the portfolio.

Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 65687 has been withdrawn due to accident damage which was considered uneconomic to repair.
Alpha Recovery has taken Dennis Trident/Plaxton President 33189; Scania L94UB/Wrights 65672, 65687 – all after these buses had been “parted out”.
Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse Urban 66816 went to Volvo, Ipswich for a new engine. Sister 66719 is long term VOR at Chelmsford. Volvo B12M/Plaxton Paragon 20514 is disused at Chelmsford and has lost its destination equipment.

ADL/Enviro 200 261 (EY57 FZE) appeared at Kelvedon (KN) from 28/2/19.

Scania Omnidekka 812 (YN55 PZR) went to Chambers on 1/2/19 and returned on 5/2/19. Omnidekkas 812-14 are allocated to Kelvedon (KN); 815-20 are at Clacton (CN). Chambers batch of 801-811 is drawn from for engineering cover at KN. 813 was a Chambers during mid February and then returned. In late February, 803/9/11 came from Chambers, but 809 quickly went back. 803/10/12 went to Chambers. Yellow/blue 804 (YN55 PZF) came from Chambers by 22/2/19. 809 returned to KN on 26/2/19. 812 back to KN on 27/2/19.
Scania N230UD/Optare Olympus 873 (PN09 EMK) and Volvo B7TL/Wright Gemini 517 went to Ensign on 1/2/19 for single door certification. 527 (LX06 EAK) is being converted to single door at Clacton 9CN), with 528 (LX06 EAM) the last to await conversion.
Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President 581 (W956 WGH) is now disused – but not withdrawn.
Volvo B10M/Plaxton Premiere 5 (N664 THO) has gone to Alpha Recovery for scrap. It was collected by low loader from Clacton depot on 23/2/19. Sister 8 (R453 FWT) continues in use at CN on a school contract, but now has a fleetname on the front only.

Acquired via Plaxton, Anston (dealer) are all of the ex Trent Barton Optare Tempo SRs; YJ12 GWA/C-G/K-P/U.
The last Optare Excels have been withdrawn; 171-73 (YG52 DHF, DGE/F).
Buses not in the new livery: Trident/ALX400 8 (LX04 FYB) – Carters red/yellow; DAF DB250LF 50 (PN 52 XBK) old IB green/cream; Trident/President LR 52 KWH – red; Trident/ALX400 LX03 BTF – red.
Volvo Olympian/NC 29 (P915 RYO) has gone for preservation. This also retained red livery from its Carters days.
Volvo FL10 360 recovery truck P849 NDX now has old style Ipswich Buses fleetnames on its blue/red livery.

One country route, the 242, runs to Waltham Cross, on the border of ‘Busmopolitan’ territory. Previously, the 242 had gone further east – across the border from Hertfordshire into Essex. Stored at Braintree depot are Dart SLF/Pointer 456 (GU52 HJX); Optare Solos 320 (YJ56 AUE), 328 (MX06 BPZ). The last ex UNO Dart SLF stored at Braintree has now gone.
Withdrawn are Dennis Dart SLF/Caetano 454 (HV52 WTE), Dart SLF/Pointer 455 (EG02 NZD ex 02-C-20217).
Dart SLF/Mini Pointer 412 (SK02 XGP) and Dart SLF/Pointers 455 (EG02 NZD), 459 (GU52 HKD) have transferred to Galloway at Mendlesham.

Route 653 (Hatfield-St Albans) has been relaunched as ‘Tigermoth’ and restocked with 8 former Malta Volvo B7RLE/Wrights. They were launched at a ceremony at Hatfield on 4/2/19. They are named after female ATA pilots who ferried planes between factories and airfields during WW2. The B7RLEs entered service from 5th February and replaced various ADL/Enviro 200s. Full details of the B7RLEs are in Decmber 2018 Busmopolitan. Their names are: 370 – Joan Hughes; 371 – Marion Wilberforce; 372 – Margaret Fairweather; 373 – Gabrielle Patterson; 374 – Rosemary Rees; 375 – Margaret Cunnison; 376 – Winifred Crossley; 377 – Mona Freiedlander. They entered traffic slightly in advance of the route relaunch.
